Wallet types

Understand the different wallet types supported by Preddy.

Preddy supports three wallet types: Preddy, Poly, and Safe.

  • Preddy — wallets created natively by Preddy.
  • Poly and Safe — wallets imported from Polymarket.

Import Polymarket account

Follow the Add Account flow to import an existing Polymarket account into Preddy.

Preddy (native Preddy wallet)

A Preddy wallet is created directly within Preddy. It uses a modern account standard called EIP-7702 that gives your regular wallet smart account capabilities.

How it works

Your wallet address is your trading address — there's only 1 address. The keypair itself is what performs trades. No proxy contract is deployed, and no secondary address is involved.

Why EIP-7702

Traditional platforms (like Polymarket) deploy a separate smart contract for each user to enable features like batched transactions. EIP-7702 achieves the same result without the extra contract:

No extra contract

Your wallet gets smart account features on-the-fly — no deployment needed.

Single address

One address for funding and trading. Simpler to manage, easier to track.

Batched transactions

Multiple actions (approve + trade, split + swap) execute in a single transaction.

Full compatibility

Your wallet remains a standard address — it works everywhere, with any dApp.

Poly (Polymarket proxy wallet)

A Poly wallet is imported from Polymarket. It uses Polymarket's original proxy wallet system.

How it works

Polymarket deploys a proxy smart contract for each user. This means there are 2 addresses:

  1. Owner address — the private key you control. This is what you import into Preddy.
  2. Trading address — a proxy contract that holds your positions and USDC. This is the address you see on the Polymarket UI.

When you trade on Polymarket, your owner address signs transactions, and the proxy contract executes them. All assets (positions and USDC) live in the proxy contract, not in your owner wallet directly.

On the Polymarket UI, you only see your trading (proxy) address. When importing into Preddy, you provide the owner private key that controls that proxy.

For more details, see the Polymarket proxy wallets documentation.

Safe (Polymarket Safe wallet)

A Safe wallet is also imported from Polymarket. It uses a newer Gnosis Safe-based architecture.

How it works

Same dual-address model as Poly — 2 addresses (owner + Safe contract). The difference is the underlying contract standard. Your owner key controls a Gnosis Safe smart contract instead of a simple proxy.

When importing into Preddy, you provide the owner private key, just like with Poly wallets.

Comparison

| | Preddy | Poly | Safe | |---|---|---| | Origin | Created by Preddy | Imported from Polymarket | Imported from Polymarket | | Addresses | 1 (your wallet = trading address) | 2 (owner + proxy contract) | 2 (owner + Safe contract) | | What you import | Nothing (created natively) | Owner private key | Owner private key | | Account standard | EIP-7702 | Proxy (1-of-1 multisig) | Gnosis Safe |

Feature priority

Preddy wallets are the primary focus for new features. Polymarket-imported wallets (Poly and Safe) get access to the same features, but there may be a delay since they rely on a different execution model.
